Bert Started his life long career in fitness at the age of twelve and has since then been training, pursuing and achieving his dream of making a living in sports and athletics.
Mr. Rodriguez established Power Punch Promotions in South Florida in 1973 which owned and operated U.S.1 Fitness Centers in West Palm Bch., North Miami and Dania till 2009. He started Twenty First Century Warriors which promoted Pay-Per View event featuring world champion competitors in MMA, Kickboxing, Boxing and Karate. He and his wife Kathy Rivers recently moved to Destin in May of 2010 and brought their expertise to open CrossFit Destin.
He has been featured on CNN,20/20, Dateline NBC, The Learning Channel, PBS, BBC, Canadian Broadcasting, Univision, Telemundo and other radio and press around the world.

Bert Rodriguez
Kathy Rivers was born in Woonsocket Rhode Island and has been a sports fanatic and athlete since Junior High School and High School where she played softball and basketball and was voted MVP 6 years in a row. She received a scholarship to play basketball but opted to travel and follow her adventurous spirit.
She came to south Florida where she met Bonnie Canino (four time world boxing and kickboxing champion) and her trainer Bert Rodriguez (who she later married) She traveled to Japan with them where Canino defeated the Japanese champ and inspired Kathy to return with some new goals, to start a modeling career and become a world boxing champion.
She started training for her first fight and modeling the same year and has been featured in FitNews Magazine, Oxygen Magazine, Hot Skins Catalogue, Tropic magazine, ESPN and in numerous interviews with T.V. radio and press.

Kathy won the Women’s IBA Cruiserweight Boxing Title and after an impressive 24 professional fights retired to pursue new goals. Shortly after she entered and won second place in her first FAME World Tour Series of Physique Competitions. She is a respected business woman with investment properties in Ft. Lauderdale and Bartow Fl. And the President of Kathy Rivers Fitness LLC.
Kathy has been a certified personal trainer in both fitness and boxing and trained her first protégé to a Gold Medal at the USA Female Golden Gloves in 2007.
Her and her husband Bert Rodriguez now reside in beautiful Destin Fl. Where she opened her new gym and training center CrossFit Destin.
